Testimonial by: Nick Hooten Date added: 03/24/2010 Title: Signal and Power Integrity. Thanks!
Dr. Bogatin,
I searched all over the internet for your email address or another suitable way to contact you (I didn't imagine Facebook would end up being my best resource), just so I could tell you that I love your book. As a student, let me tell you that your book breathes new life into the otherwise dead world of engineering textbooks. Don't get me wrong, those weighty tomes of lengthy derivations and confusingly worded problems have their place, but your book makes learning some of the important foundations of your field easy and interesting.
Yes, I said it. Your book makes me WANT to read it. Congratulations, sir.
I was assigned this book as part of an independent study I'm taking this
semester as a grad student in EE, and so far it has been incredibly helpful. Your intuitive explanations and approachable style make this book easy to pick up and learn from. I'm sure you've probably heard this 1,000 times, but THANK YOU for writing this book. It will always have a place on my shelf. |

Excellent, EXCELLENT course, Laura. Kudos to Eric and everyone at BeTheSignal. If all engineering school professors taught as clearly as Eric we'd all likely stay in college and get our PHDs! :=) |

Testimonial by: Mike Grunsten of El Paso, Texas Date added: 12/29/2008 Title: Lessons learned from a classic joke
Just had to write after finding your article 11/09/08 A Simple Strategy to Design Out Signal Integrity Problems. I've worked in manufacturing plants since 1972. One of my first bosses taught me the Henny Youngman joke about the arm hurting a few decades back. It's a concept that took me two years to understand but when I finally did it became the basis for all my problem solving. I was delighted to read how you have recognized the profundity of that joke. I have never passed the opportunity to pass that lesson on. Thanks for the article. |

Testimonial by: Charles Grasso of Louisville, CO Date added: 12/29/2008 Title: A book that closes the loop between theory and practice
I was very pleased with this book. Not only does it cover a very useful area of design, it is very well written and very clear its approach to complex engineering. Although there are other books that cover similar material, I found this book to have a clear concise and pleasing delivery. I especially enjoyed that the author focused first on the basis of the problem - I liked the chapter on Inductance - and then folded the concepts into transmission lines. All the "controversial" elements are addressed from partial inductance to differential signaling. I have read many books on this subject and this one fits a nice niche between the heavy theoretical (such as Clayton Paul's Transmission Line) to the very basic.
Overall - a very nice addition to anyone's shelf! |

Thursday and Friday of this past week I attended your EPSI seminar at Qualcomm and wanted to let you know that I very much enjoyed both classes. I have had the fortune of working with many bright individuals but I believe I can safely say that very few possess your caliber of unique knowledge and talent. Thanks very much for sharing these qualities with the rest of us. |

Testimonial by: Barry Sullivan of Santa Clara, CA Date added: 02/16/2010 Title: DesignCon Paper Award
On behalf of the International Engineering Consortium and the DesignCon 2010 Technical Program Committee, I am pleased to inform you that your paper, “Frequency Dependent Material Properties: So What?” has been selected for a DesignCon Paper Award in the Interconnect Design Category.
DesignCon Paper Awards recognize outstanding contributions to the educational goals of the DesignCon program. Papers are judged both on the merits of the written document and on the quality of their presentation at DesignCon 2010. Your paper was one of ten Paper Award winners chosen from among the twenty-eight finalists in the DesignCon 2010 technical program.
We will announce the winners and post them on the DesignCon web site soon. In addition, we will present your award plaque during DesignCon 2011, scheduled for January 31 – February 3, at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
Congratulations to you and your co-authors on your award. I look forward to seeing you at DesignCon next year for the award ceremony.
Best regards,
Barry |
