NMA-840 Selecting Capacitors for the PDN

NMA-840 Selecting Capacitors for the PDN

This is the recording of our fifth No Myths Allowed webinar for 2009, recorded live on Dec 9, 2009. We walk through the details of how to select capacitor values to bring the PDN impedance profile below the target impedance across the whole bandwidth of interest. This approach takes into acount the on-die capacitance, package lead inductance, VRM behavior and the mounting inductance of the capacitors. In particular, we show the importance of including the ESR of the capacitors.

This recorded webinar was originally presented live on Dec 9, 2009.
